Cheryl qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2009 and has gained a wide range of clinical experience across both the public and private sectors. As a Case Manager, she supports clients who have sustained complex injuries and long-term conditions, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological conditions, chronic pain, amputation and polytrauma. Cheryl brings a holistic, person-centred approach to her work and is committed to helping clients achieve the best possible outcomes through coordinated rehabilitation, care planning and effective communication with all professionals involved.

As an Occupational Therapist, Cheryl has practised across a variety of clinical settings, enabling her to develop and maintain a broad and adaptable skill set that underpins her case management practice. She has worked in acute, rehabilitative and community settings with adults and older adults with neurological and palliative illnesses, and on cardiac, respiratory, orthopaedic and surgical wards. This breadth of experience means she is highly skilled in working with individuals with complex presentations and long-term care needs following illness and injury, and she understands the physical, cognitive, emotional and environmental factors that can affect engagement in rehabilitation.

Prior to working as a Case Manager, Cheryl held the role of Clinical Therapy Lead within the NHS, where she led a therapy-led service across several care homes, providing specialist clinical guidance and treatment for individuals with progressive and long-term conditions. This role involved risk management, outcome-focused intervention, multidisciplinary liaison and oversight of service delivery. Alongside this, Cheryl led Continuing Professional Development within the West Kent Therapy Teams, coordinating regular meetings, peer supervision and professional development activity. She has also shared her knowledge by presenting at a national Occupational Therapy conference in the South East.

Since 2022, Cheryl has also worked as an Independent / Associate Occupational Therapist, completing assessments and producing high-quality reports for clients who have sustained spinal injury, brain injury and polytrauma. Through this work, she has developed strong experience of working within case-managed rehabilitation, contributing to coordinated care planning, identifying risks and recommendations, and supporting clients with complex functional, environmental and rehabilitation needs. She has also supported Local Authorities with assessments and recommendations for major adaptations and housing needs, further strengthening her ability to advocate for clients and coordinate practical solutions that promote safety, independence and quality of life.

Cheryl is experienced in producing client-specific documentation, including risk assessments, support plans and guidance for support teams, helping to ensure high standards of care and consistency in service delivery. She works closely with clients, families, therapists, care providers and statutory services to ensure that rehabilitation and care plans remain responsive, well-coordinated and focused on the individual’s goals. Cheryl is committed to continual professional development and to delivering thoughtful, evidence-based and compassionate case management. Cheryl is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) and the British Association of Brain Injury & Complex Case Management (BABICM).
