On Thursday 2nd July, the NeuroHealth team came together for our Summer Company Meeting & Training Day – a fantastic opportunity to connect, reflect, and build on the work we do every day.
It was great to bring everyone together for a day centred on learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement, with an engaging agenda that combined guest speakers, company updates, team insights, and real-world case learning.
Morning Highlights:
We opened the day by stepping straight into the realities of practice with an insightful session from Clinical Psychologists Dr Lucilla Carlacci De Mattia and Dr Kate FitzGerald from NPsych on professional boundaries in complex neurorehabilitation.
This session challenged us to reflect on what boundaries look like in practice, when roles overlap, expectations compete, and decisions are rarely straightforward. We explored how easily lines can blur between advocate, coordinator, and clinician, and the level of judgement required to navigate this safely.
We reflected on the difference between boundary crossings and violations, how power dynamics and multiple stakeholders influence decision-making, and the early signs that boundaries may be under pressure, whether through emotional fatigue, over-involvement, or role confusion.
A key takeaway was the importance of self-awareness and reflective practice as essential tools, not only to protect positive client outcomes, but also to support clinician wellbeing in complex, long-term cases.
In addition, company updates highlighted another year of excellent results from our annual client feedback and satisfaction survey, reinforcing the impact and quality of the work delivered across the team. We also saw how the thoughtful integration of AI into practice is supporting improvements in efficiency, consistency, and overall quality across the service.
Afternoon Insights:
The afternoon centred on a powerful return-to-work case study following brain injury, presented by Case Manager Deborah Lindley. It highlighted the often non-linear reality of rehabilitation and the persistence, creativity, and collaboration required to support meaningful, real-world outcomes.
We also heard updates from across internal teams, strengthening our people-focused culture – from recruitment and onboarding improvements to wellbeing support and greater consistency across the organisation.
We were also once again joined by the talented Cristian Sirbu from iBalance Therapy, offering chair massages throughout the day.
We rounded off the day with drinks and nibbles, an opportunity to reconnect, reflect, and celebrate the shared purpose behind the work we do.
A huge thank you to our guest speakers, Lucilla and Kate, and to everyone who contributed to making it such a valuable and engaging day. We’re already looking forward to the next one!
