Deborah is a skilled Case Manager and Occupational Therapist who has extensive clinical experience working with adults and children who have sustained brain injuries, life-changing neurological injuries, complex orthopaedic trauma/amputation and spinal cord injury. She has worked for over 30 years promoting clients’ independence and is very passionate about helping people lead meaningful and purposeful lives.
Deborah has completed occupational therapy and case management roles throughout her professional career. In January 2009, she moved into the independent sector and she continues to manage a varied caseload. This has enabled her to maintain her practice as a skilled clinician.
The completion of her undergraduate degree in 1991 (Exeter University, UK) and master’s degree in 2000 (Brunel University, London) gave her solid foundations for her career as an Occupational Therapist and Case Manager. Deborah’s diverse caseload experience has helped her develop a broad range of skills, such that she can positively impact the issues that are relevant and important to people who have health problems and their families. She has substantial expertise in neurological rehabilitation and the management of long-term conditions.
Deborah values being able to offer timely assessment and intervention to people who have a diverse range of presenting problems. Her work is focused on meeting the needs of people who have sustained a brain injury, long-term conditions and orthopaedic problems, as well as other illnesses.
Deborah is registered with the Institute of Registered Case Managers (IRCM), the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), and is a member of the British Association of Brain Injury & Complex Case Management (BABICM), the Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT), and the Case Management Society UK (CMSUK). Deborah also carries out active engagement and a leadership role each month with RCOT initiatives and projects related to vocational rehabilitation, neurology and private practice.
Deborah attends regular clinical training to invest in her professional development and ensure the highest quality of service to her clients. She has delivered training to clients, carers and multidisciplinary groups and is valued as a highly skilled communicator and problem solver.
Deborah is married and lives in north London with their two adult sons.
