Erin is a highly qualified Physiotherapist with almost 20 years of extensive clinical knowledge gained from working within the NHS and private sector.  As a Case Manager, Erin works with adults and children with brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, neurological and developmental disorders, and other complex needs.

In the early stages of her career, Erin developed a strong foundation in physiotherapy through her Band 5 and Band 6 rotational posts. Between 2006 and 2011, she worked across a variety of adult-focused settings, including neurology, orthopaedics, musculoskeletal outpatients, respiratory, ITU/HDU, elderly care, and palliative care, before moving to community-based rehabilitation. She was responsible for the assessment and treatment of adults with complex needs in acute hospital wards, elderly care units, and community environments. This included managing patients with neurological and respiratory conditions, supporting rehabilitation post-surgery or injury, and contributing to palliative care pathways. Erin’s early exposure to adult caseloads has equipped her with a broad clinical perspective and the confidence to work effectively with adult clients, complementing her later experience in paediatrics and young people.

Following working with both adults and children for a number of years, Erin then proceeded to specialise in working with children and young people, providing in-depth assessments and long-term management of neurological conditions, oncology and complex neuro-orthopaedic presentations. Erin has also worked on the neonatal unit, in acute paediatric hospital wards, in community-based children’s centres and special educational schools providing specialist knowledge and advanced clinical skills to a varied caseload of children. Erin led the physiotherapy orthopaedic service, running joint multidisciplinary assessments with Orthopaedic Consultants and Paediatricians deciding on surgical interventions and supporting the families pre and post-operation with both discharge and rehabilitation. In her NHS role, Erin worked as a CPIP (Cerebral Palsy Integrated Pathway) trainer ensuring quality, timely and appropriate assessment of children with cerebral palsy was completed to enable early detection of postural changes.

Having set up and managed a private children’s physiotherapy practice, Erin is an accomplished and effective communicator, possesses excellent time management and organisation skills, and demonstrates a collaborative approach, all of which contribute to her ability to deliver high-quality case management. Erin’s work as a Physiotherapist involves coordination with case management services, educational settings, and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for her clients.

Erin is experienced in conducting assessments for individuals and formulating personalised rehabilitation, care and support plans based on these assessments. She is experienced in coordinating with both statutory and private services, including educational settings, and promoting multidisciplinary team working to ensure comprehensive, client-centred care.

Erin has extensive knowledge in 24-hour postural management and the provision of specialist equipment, including sleep systems, standing frames and assistive mobility aids. Erin has experience and skills in aquatic therapy, rebound and neurodevelopmental treatment. She aims to provide evidence-based client-focused care and is dedicated to ensuring that case management goals for her clients are individual,family-focused and achievable to encourage engagement, with the aim of achieving the best possible functional outcomes, maximising her clients’ independence and quality of life.

Erin has also worked with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) for most of her career and has supported these clients in liaising with educational professionals, supporting the development and implementation of Educational Health Care (EHC) plans. Over the years, she has attended many multidisciplinary assessments, as well as provided evidence for healthcare tribunals and child protection/safeguarding meetings.

Erin is a member of the British Association of Brain Injury & Complex Case Management (BABICM), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
