Accessibility and inclusivity are two fundamental pillars that make our society stronger, more vibrant and, above all else, promote equality.
For individuals who have sustained a life-changing injury, accessibility and inclusivity can mean many things: being able to access and live in a home that has been designed specifically to meet their individual needs, where they feel safe, comfortable and able to enjoy living; being able to safely and easily access the community and be welcomed into social groups and form relationships with peers; or the ability to ensure that their perspectives are not only heard but actively valued.
It is imperative that, in all areas of society, we are proactively ensuring an environment that is accessible and inclusive to all, which includes the ever-growing digital world we live in, ensuring that digital spaces are gateways and not barriers to those who need them most. It is why we have recently introduced a range of accessibility options integrated across our website, including a multi-language text reader, adaptive font sizing and spacing, dyslexic font, high contrast features and access keys. We hope that these features will empower all individuals using our website to be able to easily access the information they need and contact us should they wish to.
Just as in the physical world, the digital world should be a place where everyone can access, participate, learn, and connect.
